In the gentle rise of Goulburn Street, where the rhythm of old Hobart lingers in brick and sandstone, stands the western half of the historic Bulls Head Hotel. First constructed in eighteen twenty eight, this rare building carries the weight and wonder of its early years, yet steps forward with renewed clarity following an award winning restoration by Circa Architecture.

The renovation does not overwrite the past. It listens to it. Original timbers, stone, and time softened details remain central to the experience, creating a home where history is present without feeling heavy. Circa Architecture’s approach introduces contemporary comfort while preserving the quiet dignity of the structure, allowing old and new to settle naturally alongside one another.
